Oh that's how you post...

Ye its been awhile! Haven't updated this blog since 3rd Nov, seems like ages ago (probably cause it is).
Whats been going on with me? In general i've got a new job, just working in a clothes shop but it pays the bills. Have applied for a sponsorship pilot programme with Flybe, so will be having the interview for that in the near future, looking forward to it, but i'm going to have to brush up on my maths and physics.
I was suppose to fly home today, back to Dublin, but my flight was cancelled from Heathrow :(. Have had to re-book my flight for Christmas Eve, please god don't let it snow! If i don't get home for Christmas it looks like i will be having beans on toast for Christmas dinner, might push the boat out and have cheese on the side! In all seriousness i hope i get home.
In terms of trading, since i last posted i've had a big-ish swing. At one point i blew my £100 bank (twice). So i was down that plus my profit i had made on the £100 bank which was around about £200 in each. So was not a happy bunny. But i have managed to claw it back and am now up £200.
I've altered my trading slightly to suit me, because i find myself sometimes getting bored trading pre race, i have been trading in-running for the past month. I started off slow when trading in-running with a small bank of £20. Within the first 3 days i had turned that bank into £120. However, i was using between 50-75% of my bank to trade at the start. I withdrew my initial £20 and then started with my new bank of £100. I've now steadily held that bank, withdrawing £100 when i reach the £200 mark. I find by doing this it gives me more structure, as i do occasionally like a flutter. So on the trading front things are looking good, my set up at the moment includes: At the races subscription, 19' monitor, laptop. Until last week i had subscribed to RacingUK online, but the pictures for me were streaming to slow so i decided to cancel it.

Possibly the biggest change since i posted last is my poker. I opened an account with Fulltilt around the middle of November and deposited $50. I have now steadily grew this bank to a tidy sum of $525.
I've just finished playing a ring game of Omaha Hi, 6 seated. I bought in for $50 and was playing pretty loose aggressive, until Gus Hansen sat down! I was tempted to cash out with my $95 but was convinced to stay because it was Gus! He bought in for the full amount of $50 (why he was playing so low stakes is beyond me). Within 5minutes he had doubled up twice over, thankfully not taking any of my chips!

Anywho! I've managed to improve my poker, by playing all different kinds of poker, from 2-7 Draw to Stud. I think this has broadened my understanding of the game and has also managed to keep me interested.

Hope everyone is doing great and to those on my blog roll keep up the posting because i'm reading!

Re-vamp

Changed the layout of my blog just to keep it a bit interesting! Also put in a total page views gadget, which currently sits on about 3744!

Going to trade mostly on the jumps today, a bit of in-running trading.

I've also put on a small multiple bet on Chelsea, Arsenal and Real Madrid. Personally i think Arsenal to win @ 2.78 is much to high, it drifted when the news of Fabregas not starting came out. Will hopefully be able to trade on the game later. I fancy trading on a few correct scores, will try update the blog later to let you know what I'm doing.
Ciao for now, good luck trading!

Calm downnnnnnn

Haven't traded for the past few days as I've had a few training/induction days for my new job.
Will be able to trade all the rest of this week thankfully though.
Traded 9 races today, 8/9 profitable so was happy with that. Made a total of just £20 though, as the one trade that wasn't profitable amounted to £65! And that was on the first race!

I find after a loss like this, my mind starts to have a battle with itself. 60% of my brain just starts saying gamble the rest of the bank you could win it back! Then 20% is just beating itself up for losing the money in the first place. Then the final 20%, "the key 20%", is just whispering stay calm! Calm downnnnnnnnn!
Thankfully the key 20% won through this time! Gradually managed to claw it back and on the second last race i broke even, then on the last race i managed to make £20. So was a draining day!

Managed to trade the Spurs game just for a quick profit of £5 so was happy to take that and stop trading for the day. Didn't see the game but have seen everyone raving about Bale and how he practically pulled down Maicon's pants and gave him a spanking! Will have to watch the highlights.

Trading versus "Real work"

Horse Racing: £71.95  Total P&L:  £71.95
So I've managed to get myself a "real" job. I've had a training week this week for it, which has really eaten up my "trading time". However the days have only been from 10am till 2pm (the goodside), the downside to this is i don't get home till 3pm as its a bit of a drive. Amazingly though my profits for this week are a bit mad......I had £0 in my Betfair account as i had withdrawn my previous bank, as i needed the money to tie me over. So Sunday night i decided to put £30 in, so that when i got home from work i could trade on a few horse's and "unwind".

So basically this week i have managed to trade Monday (3pm-4pm), Tuesday (4pm-4:30pm), Wednesday (3pm-3:45pm) and today (3:20pm -16:40pm). So not a crazy amount of hours, just a total of 215mins if you add it up! While this week i have worked 16hours (960mins). So I've worked 4.4 times the amount i have traded. Here's what I've made from each:

Trading: £175
Job: £103 (minus taxes and the rest!!) So around the £77 pound mark

So to recap!

215minutes of trading has = + £175

and

960minutes of slave labour has = + £77 (minus the tax)

Need i say more......

I've found it crazy this week as I've been clock watching at work, in order to get home and do some trading. After looking at the figures of it I'm pretty astonished that I've only made £77 working versus the £175 trading. The thing that shocks me the most is the amount of time i have spent on each and the difference in the payout.

Trading this week for me has averaged out at approximately £50 per hour, whereas working has equaled out to £6.43 per hour (or £4.81 minus tax).

Crazy times!
If i could ensure that profit every week on trading its a no brainer.
Mucho love hope everyones well.
Hope some people are reading this and that my A-level Maths hasn't gone to waste! Feel free to correct me on my sums!

"I didn't know ITV show rape...."

Horse Racing: £49.17 | Soccer: £23.23  Total P&L: £72.40

Another good trading day. Managed to make £49 off the horse's. Two trades in-running amounted to 50% of the profit. My basic strategy for in-running is quite simple, i basically analyse the stats of the horse (maybe two horses) that i am going to trade on in-running. I mostly try and find front-running horse's as these horse's odds tend to drop 5/10 ticks after the first 2 furlongs. Of course there are occasions when the horse's odds don't drop, there are a few reasons for this, but the main one i find is that there is either a clear favourite who is most likely a back-runner, therefore this effects the rest of the horse's odds. If you haven't tried in-running trading i would recommend to give it a go, with small stakes that you can afford to lose, but make sure that you don't have a trade placed before the horse's break, as there are a number of things that could happen at the start of the race. Also make sure you check the horse's in-running odds (Highest odds/Lowest odds). This gives you an idea of what the horse  runs like. Only way you can learn is by experiencing it.

Traded the Inter/Spurs game tonight as well, what a crazy game!! Only watched the first 15minutes but wow!
I had my strategy in place before the match. I decided to back over 2.5 goals for £50 and cover myself on the lower scores. 0-0 = £3, 1-0 = £8, 1-1 = £5 and 2-0 = £10. So i had most positions covered. I was prepared to watch the game for 60mins/ish because i thought it was going to be a bit of a tight game, with Spurs lining up with a more defensive formation. Well that thought was blown out the window in the first minute!! Before i knew it, it was 3-0 and i had a tidy profit. I was shocked to be honest, but was happy as a pig rolling in S**t. As it meant i could go play some poker! *I was on facebook after 20minutes of the game and was looking at my mates status's (many of them LOL'ing etc), one of my mates just had his status as "Didn't know they showed rape on itv...". Needless to say i "liked" this!

Speaking of poker....have started playing head's up quite a bit now, but......i think I'm going to stop. There are to many poker sharks in like 10 tables just waiting for suckers (like myself) to stroll along and whack $20/30 on the table and before i know it I've been robbed. Really want to play a few live games soon so may take a trip into London sometime soon.

Anyway that's it for now!
On a side note I've opened a demo account for trading Forex. Have threw myself in the deep end and I'm learning as i go along, only way to do it. If you're interested, or just want a good read, here's a decent site about it. http://www.trade2win.com/

Oh Rooney Rooney..

Horse Racing: £14.36  Total P&L:  £14.36
Nice and steady does it!
Traded on 6 races today, 5/6 being profitable. The one loss amounted to just 86p so was happy to take it.

Traded the Blackburn game last night, was a boring 0-0 draw. Managed to scrape £5 profit out of it by adjusting my positions during the game. Mainly by laying off the 2-2 scoreline in the 40th minute.

Haven't managed to trade any of the games tonight, Arsenal are 5-0 up right now woop woop!

Rooney, Rooney, Rooney...who knows what that guy is thinking...personally i think the misses may have had a word! Could understand her getting pissed off with all the media attention because of Rooney's "frolics".
Would say he's most likely to hop over to Spain, rather than Man City/Chelsea. Can't see him being that "disloyal".

My approach

Horse Racing: £12.97  Total P&L:  £12.97
Just a small profit today on the horse's, but was happy as i only had one losing trade of a quid and was only trading on half or less of the races.

Looking at trading the Blackburn V's Sunderland game tonight @ 8pm as it's on sky sports.
Thought i would just give a little summary of my thought process before trading the match and figuring out what strategy i would use. First of all i use www.soccerstats.com to get an idea of how both teams are doing, mainly looking at what their home/away record is and when they score/concede the most goals. In Blackburn's case they have scored 57% of their goals between 16-30mins and have conceded 63% of their goals just after half time 46-60mins. Sunderland on the other hand have a range of goal times, but the main time they tend to concede is 76-90min (57% of their goals). This gives me an idea of the "danger" time's, even though every minute on the pitch from 10seconds in till the 90th minute is a possible danger time.

The next website i check is http://www.h2hstats.com/soccer/hhpage.php?home=BROV&away=SFC&fxdate=2010-10-18

( ^^That's a direct link to the head to head stats) I use this site just to see the average amount of goals that have been scored between the two sides in previous meetings. In the case of Blackburn and Sunderland, most of the games have either been draws or win's by 1 goal.

After doing all this i think of the best approach that i could use for this game.

Personally i am going to trade on a few correct scores and adjust my position during the game.
I was thinking of trading on the 0-0, 1-0, 0-1 for the first 15minutes as i didn't think either team would score straight from the off. So i would lay all scores off at the 15minute mark and make a tidy profit. However, I'm not a great fan of this approach as if there is an early goal you automatically lose 2/3 trades. So i think i will give it a miss tonight.

My trade: 0-0 = £4 @ 9.4
               1-1 = £4 @ 7
               1-2 = £3 @ 16
               2-1 = £4 @ 10
               2-2 = £3 @ 20 (will try get 21's)

This gives me a lot of room for manoeuvring my positions during the match if either team scores. Personally, i fancy Sunderland to nick it but we shall see!!

Bit of this bit of that..

Not to much to say really. Have been getting back into my hold em poker recently. Managed to make around £45 in the past two days from it. Got down to the last 100 in a $8000 tournament. Got knocked out 89th needed to be top 54 to get payed so was rather annoyed! As there were 800 odd people at the start. Oh well life goes on and all that.

Only managed to trade today on the horse's squeezed £20 out of it. Found it a bit odd today the markets but was probably my own fault as i wasn't really 100% focused.
Managed to trade the Swindon V's Bristol game. Used my little trade strategy, have only been using small stakes to get the feel for it but managed to make a £2 profit within 15minutes so was all gravy.

Have been looking for some good forums and chat rooms recently on sports trading but can't find anything worthwhile. So please feel free to link me some if you have any!

Safe investment??

X factor's live shows have just begun and with that so has betfair's special bet section for it.
Basically with each and every week going by, and with a contestant (or two) getting eliminated each week. The odds of each contestant to win the show will go down accordingly.
So basically this would be a longish "investment" as you wouldn't be able to see your money until around Christmas time.
I've chosen two acts who i think i may back tomorrow. Them being "One direction" and "Mary Byrne".
One directions odds are currently @ 6.2 and Mary's @ 14. I'm tempted to put £100 on each as i really can't see either act getting eliminated at least for another 5/6 weeks. And by this time their odd's would have gone down quite a significant way.
Just something to throw into the equation!

Haven't traded much the past few day's, but i'm £20 up since i last posted on here.

One tequila, two tequila, three tequila, floor.

Good evening people's!
Didn't get back from the job till 4pm so didn't have much time to trade on the horse's. Managed to trade a few though, sadly made a loss because i stupidly traded on a hurdle race. Can't remember the name of the horse but it was coming up to the last in the lead looking really good was trading @ 1.6 so i stupidly backed it as i couldn't see it losing. The horse of course (nice wee rhyme) managed to fall at the last losing me my stake of £30. Rather pissed! But learned another lesson i guess so won't be doing that again! (Unless the odds are good! NO DON'T DO IT!) So had a loss of £24 on the horses today in the few races that i traded. First loss in awhile :(.

Managed to trade a footy match tonight as well Carlisle v's Port Vale. Was trading on the Correct Score market, took a number of positions. Was mainly just trying a new tactic and seeing how it went really. I took positions around the 25min mark on 0-0, 1-0, 0-1, 1-1, 2-1, 1-2. Port Vale scored first thanks to an own goal. So this cancelled out my 0-0 trade and 1-0 trade. I took out a new position at 0-2. I then layed off some of my stake on 0-1, as i expected Carlisle to score at least one, so this increased my potential profit on my other scores. Port Vale then scored another. So this cancelled out my 1-1, 2-1 trade. At this point i took new positions out on 2-2 @ around 16's.
To cut a long story short Carlisle came back to 2-2 around the 75th minute. I then decided to green up at this point for a hard earned profit of £1.50! A lot of work for little reward, but certainly enjoyed the chase! Am sure i will be able to tweak my stakes a small bit and my positions i take in order to increase my profit. My main aim when looking at football matches to trade is to look for teams that both score and concede and hopefully don't score to many.

Anywho that's all for now, would love to hear about anyone else's strategies if you care to share.
Take care.

Been a wee bit!

Bank: £545

Haven't been able to past for the past few weeks as i've had a few job interviews and managed to land a side job to keep the money ticking in, good hours for trading though 7am-3pm.
Have only traded properly the past few days. Averaging a profit of around £30-40 a day. Nearly all of this has been pre-horse race trading. However i've been dabbling over the past few days with two things.
One has been a little strategy i've been playing around with for certain football matches. Have managed to have 8/10 profitable trades, over +£10 for 15-20mins work. Then the other two trades were one scratch trade managed to get out for a loss of 1p! And the other trade was one of the first trades i was trying, managed to lose £8 pound. Apart from that i have been tweaking it here and there to suit my style of trading and at the moment its looking pretty stable. So will keep trying that out to see how it goes!
The other thing i have been trying is in-running horse trading. I have done this before, but didn't really research the stats of the horse and was basically chancing my luck. I've started keeping track of a few horses, mainly front runners. I basically take 5-8 minutes before the race to go over the horse's stats. I only choose races with between 5-10 runners, as this lets me check all the horses stats before the off. If i'm happy to go ahead with the trade, i will back the horse @ the highest odds i can get and then depending on the length of the race (a few other factors) will place a lay order in where i see fit and will keep this trade for the in-play market. Also i only choose races that i can watch just encase i see that the horse is playing up in the gates etc, so i can cancel the trade. This has been going pretty successful for me so far. With 6/7 horse's i chose today managed to get me a profit.
Anyway off to work in the morning but will be trading on a few races after 3pm.

Hope everyones trading is going superdooper. Will try my best to update this daily.

Can a stupid person be a smart-ass?

Horse Racing: £63.39  Total P&L:  £63.39

Decent enough day. Could have gone better though as i managed to make £94.91 in just one race but stupidly lost £70 of it in the next race as i stupidly didn't apply my stop loss (of 2 ticks). Still was happy to make a good profit for the day.
Traded only one of the Wolverhampton races tonight and managed to lose £10. So i just stopped straight away because i wasn't fully into it.

Off to have a roast dinner at 9pm at night! Oh my Gran would be fuming!

New Bank = £315

P.s. Think I'm going to start using some funny lines as my title, as i really can't think of any informative one's so may as well get a cheap laugh!

Decent results

Horse Racing: £49.43  Total P&L:  £49.43

Not to bad today. Didn't trade all of today just from 2pm till 3:30pm. Thought i would just monitor the rest as i had a wee bit of a headache.
So was all good, but i did think the markets seemed a bit up and down today for me personally.
Anyway just off out again, pre drinks at a mate's house. Not again!!
New Bank: £246 plus a few pennies!

Chin chin!

Peux-tu parle anglais?

Just a quick one! Just got in from the town, head is starting to hang already!
Made a loss of £18.81 today! First loss in awhile but i will just have to take it on the chin. I won quite a bit though last night on the poker so i actually managed to just make a small loss of £2 overall. So my total P&L is now sitting at £196.60. So still not to shabby.

Anywho off to bed rather intoxicated so going to try flush it out of my system! £200 on black anyone? I ain't that drunk!

Huge banker

Was the start of freshers week last night, quite the messy one!
Decided i needed a boost in the finances, so i withdrew £350 of my bank. This left me with £50 two days ago. So i basically started again, but i think having done this has gave a boost to my trading as it has made me re-enforce my rules and has also made me become more patient. Also I've noticed another area of improvement of my trading. I am starting to read graphs better 10 minutes or so before the off and 8 times out of 10 today i have put this into practice.

Over the past two days of trading i have made a profit of £148.60.
Sunday: £45.32
Monday: £103.28

My bank now stands at a healthy £198.60. I am going to again withdraw £100 as i need the money if I'm honest. When i have a healthy bank account i will definitely be compounding my bank but right now i can't take the chance of losing 100% of my bank, even though the risk is very small if i stick to my rules but i still don't want to take this risk.
So from now on when writing a post, i will have a P&L for the day and then my bank will represent how much profit i have made overall. So starting of now my bank is £198.60.

Today's trading was all gravy. Traded 19 markets today. 14 out of the 19 being profitable. My losses today amounted to £40.83. I had two big losses of £19.29 and £16.70. But i was happy to just take these losses and move on to the next market, this would have been a big falling point for me a few weeks ago as i would have most likely tried to chase these losses, and probably ended up losing more.

Anywho am off to make some grub as im starving!
Hope everyone's trading is going the right way!

New Leap!

Today's P&L: £133.69
Bank: £357.48

The numbers just sum up my day. Was crazy, just felt like i was in the matrix! Every trade i made went the right way and if it didn't i scratched it so there was no damage done.
I made a total of 15 trades today. Only two of them were losses, but both losses only amounted to £3.42 so was more than happy to take it. My biggest single trade today was for £22.42.
I won around £7 last night on a short poker game so that equates for the rest of my profits from my previous post.
I started off this morning differently. I got up a bit earlier than usual and got a few bits and bobs done, so i didn't have other things running around my head whilst trading. Looking back on it today, i was in a much more relaxed mood and wasn't being greedy what so ever. In some races i felt that i could get more out of them, but i just convinced myself to stop and grab a quick drink of water and go analyse the next race. By doing this i had plenty of time to assess each market and pick my strategy before the 5 minutes left till the race mark. (The time in which i prefer to trade) by doing this i found myself in and out of the market with at least 1-2 mins to spare.
If i can keep anywhere near this mark up i will be on a roll. I'm not going to get cocksure of myself as i don't want to chance any stupid unnecessary losses.

On a side note, i went to see Dara O'Briain today in the Hammersmith Apollo. The guy is a fecking genius! I truly recommend going to see him if you have the chance.
P.s. The new Fifa is completely different to the old one!

Not sure if i will have much time to trade tomorrow as i am off down to my girlfriends mum's house as it's her birthday, but i may just try sneak a few in! Also i'm in a poker tournament tomorrow night to possibly win a share of $65,000. So things are looking decent.
Another quick note: i'm on the fence as to whether i should withdraw some of my winnings just incase, would like to hear any suggestions.

All good in the hood!

Today's P&L: £33.86
Bank: £216.38

First of all....Arsenal! Just wow. Fabregas, Vela, Arshavin, Wilshere...list goes on a fair bit. (Still have a dislike to Eboue, think he slows the play down a bit)

Was all settled and ready for a days trading today, when i got a call at just before 2pm from my mates saying they were going into town. So i decided to go instead, which turned out to be for a couple of hours. Before i went thought i had a cheeky few bets for the day instead and guess what...they all came in! Every single one of them i was shocked when i got back. They weren't for crazy stakes just £2's and £4's, but was well chuffed! I just chose my selections from reviewing timeform. On a few of the bets i did put in lays at lower odds around the 1.9 mark, just encase. So managed to make a £12.31 profit just from a small few bets.

Set up a quick strategy for the footy games. Just decided to trade on the Chelsea and Arsenal games. Was trying to get out of my trades as soon as possible as i just wanted to watch the Arsenal game to be honest. Decided to back 2-0 and 3-0 for both games and also had a cover bet on the Chelsea game as i backed Zilina to win, just encase they scored first. I didn't have a cover back bet on Braga as i watched the first 5 minutes and saw Arsenal were dominating it. If needed though i was ready to put a back bet in for Braga to win. Thankfully didn't have to, thanks to a stupid penalty give away from Braga (could see it coming after the first few challenges). Fabregas didn't disappoint and slotted it home and thankfully Chelsea scored an early goal to on the 13 minute. So was happy as larry to trade out after this on both CS markets for a greened up profit of £9.09 on the Arsenal game and £12.46 on the Chelsea game. Was happy to take both profits and for once didn't feel the need to be greedy just in case i lost it all!

So was a happy easy trade on the footy today. If anyone is reading this, i would love to know what strategies you employed? Hopefully i will be able to post my strategy before every major game and then will be able to discuss what went right/wrong.

Other than that, had a football game today as well at 5pm. Was a bit random as i only got asked to play 20mins before hand but was happy to dust off the boot's. Normally play Right wing but they were short so i went up top (all 5ft 8inches of me) banged one in though so was hunky dory. Won 3-0.

Found this decent sight for free betting tips as well http://www.online-betting-guide.co.uk/ pretty decent for the horse races. People post their selections and sometimes explain why. Good to get every angle in. Helps with trading as well sometimes to have a look and see which horses are getting well backed/layed.

Right that's about it, just sitting waiting here for the new Fifa 11 demo to download. Taking forever! So may see if there are any cheap poker tournaments open.

Till tomorrow

Quick update

Just a quick one before i start trading for today.
Fancied a bit of poker last night so i bought in to a cash table for $50 (.25c/50c blinds).
Managed to double up after 10mins and just left the table after my double up.

Tonight's plan

Today's P&L: £11.61
Bank: £141.93

Only made £11.61 on the horses today. Started a new tactic today. Was trading on 1m races and under and in the 2m + races/hurdles (Listowel races) i traded in-running. Was a successful tactic for me today, was up to a bank of £180 at one point but 2 stupid trades later i went back down to where i finished. Overall though I'm happy to finish with a small profit for today. 11% profit on my starting bank for today.
Am going to have to withdraw £50 at some point today or tomorrow just to bank some profit. I know i said i wouldn't and i would compound my bank, but it's fresher's week soon and i may need it for going out purposes :D.

Tempted to trade on the Man Utd game tonight. Am not to sure if i will yet or not, but i have worked out my tactic for tonight.
I'm going to trade on the CS market 2-0, 3-0 and Unquoted market. I will watch the first 5 minutes or so, depending on how quick the boys in red start. I'm assuming they are going to come out the blocks and i can see Rooney trying to prove himself tonight. Can see him scoring at least one.

Will update this tonight and let you know whether i traded the game or not.

UPDATE

Man Utd v's Rangers: £5.22
Bank: £147.18

Managed to squeeze a small profit out of the game. At halftime i cashed out for £2.40 profit. As i backed the draw for £4 after the first 15mins as it was clear that Rangers were just packing there box, so knew it would be hard for Man Utd to score. I also backed 2-0 and 3-0. I left the Unquoted market as i didn't have enough in my bank to lay it. I managed to make a profit off the 2-0 CS and took a loss off the 3-0. So both results cancelled each other out. So was happy to get out at half-time.
The second half i back Under 2.5 goals after the 60 minute mark. I rode that out for 15mins and managed to make a further £2.82.
I stopped trading on the game after this as i didn't want to risk a late goal from United.
So happy days today!
*Am currently having some banter with my mate that supports United. He's saying that Rangers are cowards that they just stuck 10 men behind the ball and I'm just saying it was a good tactic. So basically his opinion is poppy cock.*

Like throwing money in the fire

£40 down the burner in the space of 30minutes in the casino today. The empire casino is totally vamped up for the WSOPE which starts tomorrow there. Registration starts from as little as £10,350! Could easily see myself paying that, getting Pocket Ace's first hand, ending up all-in and losing to royal flush or something! Ye so anyway, lost £40 on blackjack and roulette. Didn't have time to play live poker would have loved to but oh well.

Didn't have any time for a trade today sadly. But tomorrow will hopefully be trading all day, so will make up for it. Have started keeping a form book of each days horse racing, using timeforms results (http://form.horseracing.betfair.com/timeform) just going to be interesting, as you can see how high and low each horse traded in-running. So possibly after a few races for each horse i might start to see patterns and could use it to trade in-running. Will have to see but will be interesting keeping the stats for each racecourse and horse. Only keeping them on excel at the moment, but may find some more interesting way of logging them soon. Or if anyone else knows a way do share?

Ciao update you tomorrow!

Big Mac and Fries

Today's P&L: £69.73
Bank: £129.73

Crazy day!
Managed to trade the Liverpool game today. I could only stay in for the first 15 minutes as i had to dash to McDonalds with the misses!! So only manged to make £5, using £5 stakes on 0-0, 1-0, 0-1. However i got back in time for the last 15 minutes. Saw it was still 0-0, watched the game for 5 minutes and personally couldn't see any goals going in. So i backed the draw around the 1.2/1.3 mark. And rode it out until the 90th. Picking up another £10.
Had a good day on the horse's as well. Enjoyed trading the Listowel races as i lived there for a short while back in the day. Thought i would trade them in-running as they were all long races/hurdles. Managed a good few trades in-running on the Listowel races, my plan was to get in and out as quick as i could. Had a good day on the horse's in all.
Crazy when i think about it, made a 116% profit on my starting bank.

The golf!! I managed to get £25 green across the field and then i think i got a bit greedy. Hate the delayed pictures by the way on Sky as it's in the US. Could tell what had happened before it did. I backed Paul Casey on the 17th trying to get out for a quick few ticks profit and then blooming Dustin Johnson only went and whacked in a Birdie and i only saw what had happened around 2minutes later when sky showed it. Thankfully managed to come out with a 74p profit in the end! But as you can imagine it was a kick in the teeth.

Also tried trading on the F1 this morning, was my first go at it. Really liked trading it, was a completely different feel from any other market I've traded. Managed to green the field for £20, but then Alonso went and had a rapid pit stop and i got caught backing Button. Came out with a £8 loss but it was a lesson learned!! Can definitely see some profit coming from F1 in the near future.

Still got to learn the cricket though! Haven't got round to that yet.

Off into London tomorrow to see the sister. So not much trading if any, but may make a cheeky trip to the Empire Casino :D. Shall see.

P.s. New rule! Make sure the misses is busy if she is about whilst your trading. As she may try to distract you. You can do this by dirtying dishes for her to clean? Perhaps roll in some mud to dirty some clothes? Or even just the simple lock her in the closet technique (i joke i ain't no Fritzel!)

Learning every wee step!

Its been a few days people. Have been busy graduating and shizzle my life this week has involved a few of the following: graduated, had a few to many, got a job, left the job half way through, stole a crate of wine from the job i left (because he started swearing at me for no reason whatsoever so just walked out and picked up a crate on the way out for "compensation"). Anyway enough of that i guess!

Trading
Last time i posted i was on £276. I withdrew £176 as i treated myself to a few to many drinks and a few bits and bobs. So my bank then sat at £100.
I had about 4 days off from trading and went back at it on a US Open match, can't remember which one. However i got to cock sure of myself and used stakes of £80, having never used that high for tennis. I was inevitably taught a lesson and ended up losing my £100 in a matter of minutes. I was stunned. All the rules i had applied and used to make my lovely profit, had just been thrown out the window. It was a kick in the teeth!
However, since then i have been more rigid to my rules making sure I'm trading not gambling! And this paid off dividends! Managed to make £122.82 in one race at Bath on the 9th. I quickly withdrew this profit to make up for the £100 i had previously lost. My bank currently sits at £60. And i have slowly been building up to £100 from £50 and then withdrawing £50.
But, from now i think i am going to compile my profits and keep building my bank. As i am getting more confident using high stakes on pre horse trading. So will keep you posted on that.

Football:
Going to try and trade one game tomorrow. Birmingham V's Liverpool.
I've done quite a bit of stat collecting and have noted that the last six premier league matches between these two has ended in six draws. Tomorrow I'm going to have a crack at the CS market. Going to go for the 0-0, 1-0, 0-1 approach. I'm going to ride this out for the first 20mins and hopefully cash out with a nice profit. However, i will be watching the game so if either team starts off rapid i won't be afraid to scratch the trade.

On a side note had a happy day on the St.Ledger today. Layed Rewilding on the first corner, personally didn't fancy him on the day. Also managed to make a good profit on Corsica. Backed him at 70/1 for £50 and traded out at 27/1 for greened up profit of around £80. Knew Corsica would be a rapid pacemaker but I've seen him run a few times and thought he would go close and would definitely stay.

Have been trying to trade the golf but have only had a chance to trade the first day. Currently have £90 sitting on Tiger. So basically I'm pissing in the wind! But will hopefully be able to trade on it tomorrow.

Anyhow that's it for now!
Ciao

Rule number who knows!

Bank: £276.07

Today's P&L: £45.15

Pretty decent day today, but know i could have done much better! Started off the day with two hugely depressing losses, £20.31 and £19.47! (I put the blame on last night to be honest! to many jaggerbombs)
This made me re-think what the hell was i doing wrong. After becoming more patience and cutting my losses as soon as i saw them coming and my results started to improve.
Finished my last two races of the day with a superdooper profit of £36.03! So finished the day on a good note in the end.
I was tempted to have a bet today on my last race i traded, 17:30 Fontwell. Since i had already traded the race and made a profit of £24.79. I was ultra tempted to have a bet on the favourite Spe Salvi @ 1.5's. Thankfully i refrained! The horse came out the stall and straight from the off he looked green. So this helped me make my mind up not to trade on it. However i was having regrets when he was somehow ahead going into the straight, but then suddenly he made a dart for the far rail and went straight through it. I feel sorry for anyone that had money on him! He also traded as low as 1.14 for 1.1k.

Also to top it off, i managed to get a quick profit of £12.77 on V.Williams match. I'm still not overly confident trading on the tennis yet and am still trying to find as many strategies as possible, in order to whittle out my preferred method.
Also I'm still intrigued on trading cricket, however i have no clue what the hell to do as i have never followed cricket, but i can tell there is money there, that's just asking to be put in to my bank balance. Any links or tips would be greatly appreciated!?

So so far so good! I haven't started using bigger stakes than £100 at the moment but am started to get tempted as my bank grows. I may decide to start edging them up £20 for every £50 i make.

Wont be able to do any trading tomorrow at least not on the horses anyway, as I've got to pick up my parents and grand-parents from Heathrow. As I've got my graduation on Tuesday :D. But will try to get a few trades in on the tennis if possible!

Question to anyone who reads this. Does anyone know of any chatrooms which are free to discuss trading?

Hope your all fantabulous and your trading is likewise.

Learned another quick rule today, to add to the memory rule bank!
RULE NUMBER (WHO KNOWS): DO NOT TRADE UNTIL YOU ARE SURE ALL THE ALCOHOL FROM THE NIGHT BEFORE IS OUT OF YOUR SYSTEM!!

Rather tipsy to be fair!

Bank: £230.92

Today's P&L: £22.32

I am currently rather intoxicated to be fair, and my misses is saying come to bed! But i feel like i have to update this blog!
Didn't trade much today. Won £8.45 on the MK Dons game, was trading the CS market, 0-0 and 1-0. Was happy to cash out at half time for the profit and leave it be.
Also won £4.15 on the US open trading the Nadal game last night, the Federer game today and the Gasquet game today.
The rest of the money was made on the Gee Gee's. £10.32 ish. Mainly on the Wolverhampton and Leop races.

Now to go to sleep and sleep off this alcomohol! Jaggerbombs for £1.50 are never a good sign!

Will check back in with you tomorrow!

Wee Goal smashed!

Today P&L: £33.91

Bank: £208.60

Well my goal was well and truly obliterated. Guess i underestimated myself (fingers crossed i don't lose it all tomorrow!) The thing i have found the past few days that are KEY, you have to be patient when looking to enter a trade. Everything has to be right. At first this was my main problem i believe, as i had the attitude of i can make loads from this one trade! Also i was afraid to take a small loss of say £2-3. Now i feel confident about just leaving the trade and going on to the next one and more times than not i am able to make up for my loss with a healthy profit. One more thing, before i start to trade, be it for the day or even for one trade on the footy or tennis, confidence is key! So before trading i try and get myself into a good head space by just listening to some music. (Kiss Kube does the job! http://kube.totalkiss.com/)

Today was all gravy! Sadly i only managed to trade the last 30mins or so of the Irish game because of a phone interview i had. Didn't know what position i should take up as it was still 0-0 and hadn't seen the rest of the game, so i waited! Ireland scored thanks to Fahey in the 76th min. So i decided to enter the over 2.5 goals market. I backed under 2.5 straight after the goal, around the 1.2 mark i think it was, for £100. I was patient and stayed in the market and traded out happily for around a £9 profit (minus commission).
I also managed to trade the England game. I thought England would start off slow because of all the hype so backed 0-0, 1-0 and 0-1 for smallish stakes, looking to increase if the game started off slow. But then England (yes England banged one in early doors) so that scuppered up my plans rather quick. I re-thought my game plan and gave it 5minutes to see how the game was looking. I then decided to trade on the Correct Score market (CS for short, always wondered what CS meant before!) I backed 1-0, and 2-0. I rode them both out for a bit and thankfully managed to come out for a profit similar to Ireland game around the £9 mark. So was happy to leave it there and turn the game off and make some grub :)

So next goal??

As of now i have not set myself a certain date to get to £300 or whatever. As i have quite a busy week next week, graduating from uni and interviews. But i believe that it shouldn't take me to long at all to get to that mark if i stick all my wee rules. NEW GOALS COMING SOON!!

P.s. thinking about upping my stakes slightly now but will have to see! will keep you posted.
Good luck trading!

Well on track!

Today: £54.50    New Bank: £174.69

What a day! Managed to squeeze every last drop out of today. Well on track to my wee goal! Patience is the key!
Was using a varied amount of stakes today depending on the odds of each horse and how i felt the trade was looking. Mainly it was like this: Odds
ODDS    :    STAKE
0 > 2.5   = £80-100
2.5 > 4   = £50-60
4 > 6      = £30-50
 6 >        =£10-30

They're the stakes i currently feel comfortable. I try to stick with these stakes as much as i can in order to try to stay disciplined.
Another new thing i have started doing, to ensure that i don't go in-play, is to move directly to the next race market before the last 10 seconds of the race i am trading on. This has greatly helped me as there is always a part of me when i make a small loss that wants to go in-play to try and recoup my losses (which you all know, unless you trade in the in-play markets, ends in misery!)
Am currently trading on the US Open, layed Sharapova @ 1.1 for £100, saw her last game she looked shocking so thought i could get a few ticks out of it. Backed her @ 1.18  in her first game, when she was down 15-30. Got out and greened up for around a £7 profit. Closing the market now so that i don't go and lose that profit! So that will help my bank out nicely. May trade a few more games before i go bed. Maybe on Nadals match but not sure at the moment.

Looking to trade on the Irish game tomorrow. There playing Armenia away. Being Irish I've experience all the heartbreak! Ireland usually start of slow in away matches especially to random fooking teams (excuse me my Armenian brothers!). The over 2.5 goals market is currently 2.46. So my plan at the minute is to back 0-0, 1-0, 0-1 and ride them for 15-20mins depending on what we are looking like and also will back the over 2.5 goals market to cover myself. Hope all goes well! Will update you tomorrow.

Have downloaded some e-books on trading, currently reading the way of the turtle. Good wee read so far! If anyone knows any other good books please let me know, will appreciate it!

Anywho I'm off
Ciao for now!

Goal update

Well the goal has changed slightly, i had to take some money out of my a/c for personal spendage.
So the goal has changed.
I decided to open up another betfair account so that i could have one for my poker and betting and my new one just for trading. Deposited £80 into my new account on Monday.

So my new goal as of Monday has been to turn that £80 into £200, still by the 10th Sept.
I've managed to trade Tuesday and today. My account now sits at a tidy £120, so will keep you all up to date on my progress!

Today was a crazy day. Started off with 3 great trades in the afternoon - £6.90, £7.80, £9.23. So was all going swimmingly had myself concentrated and had the feel of the markets. Then i went and got a drink and i think i got a little bit cocky trying to swing trade. This did not go well! i entered a position and withing moments i was 2 ticks down, my stake was £80 at around odds of 3.8. So they were hefty tick sizes for my bank. However i felt confident so i let it play out a bit *head in hands moment* to cut a long embarrassing story short, i ended up -£21. Basically cancelling all my previous profits. After this point i was peeved to say the least so i stopped trading for a few hours. I tried to get myself back into the right head space. I came back later on for the last few afternoon races. Thankfully i managed to put a few good trades in and come out with a profit of £8.56 for the day, which i was happy to take after the day i had!

I've been interested in videoing what i do in order to learn from my mistakes, managed to download Camstudio software today, yet to try it out but looks pretty good. Might try get a video of my trading up soon. STAY TUNED FOR MORE INFO!
Also i found out that you can show your screen to people on skype thanks to my brother, so if anyone has skype please feel free to leave a comment.

That's all for now, got my graduation Tuesday. Off into the big bad world!

Goal setting

Was a good day! Felt more concentrated than ever and was certainly 100% disciplined. Traded on the horses/footy and got a small win off the cricket (still learning it), any pointers please post below :D.
Took a loss on the Liverpool and Man City games, as i didn't fancy leaving them go past half-time didn't have a good feeling about it and wanted to concentrate on the horses and it payed off. Managed to nearly completely scratch my loss in the football in one horse race so was all good.

I've decided to set my self a little goal ( just a little one to start off with). Had £100 in my account Thursday, now i have £127, from 2 days trading. So my goal is to reach £200 before the 10th of September. So that's about £6 a day as of tomorrow. It is conservative but i just want to start off with a small goal and hopefully achieve it then build on to bigger goals when i feel confident.
So will be trying to post everyday my P&L, feel free to follow me on my small goal.

Today's P&L: £15.47

Proper Bank

Leaving warm sunny Lanzarote today (31'C) today :(. Trying to get the last of the sunshine!
Past few days have been pretty decent. I started trading properly with a bank of £20 around the middle of July, i've now managed to get up to a bank of £110 so am happy with that and it has been an on going learning process. The past few days i have been getting back into poker a small bit, as i've been trying to make the most of the sun over here, so have missed most on the horses during the day. Started doing 4 tables at once with just $5 buy-in (sit-and-go). Have tried to double up at least 2 of the tables and keep the other two tables steady not losing much at all. Have been doing that successfully the past couple of days, just stayig disciplined along the way. Also i think having four tables open, personally keeps my attention level up and i become even more disciplined.
I am going to try start keeping a proper P&L account using my £110 bank, starting from Monday (well will proberly trade on the games at the weekend but will keep track of it as of Monday) Look forward to seeing how i do with a bigger bank.
Anywho off for a dip! May as well make the most of it and keep the misses happy!
See you back in Shiver-vill.

Quick profit good times

Writing this from sunny Lanzarote, around 30'C today got a nice base tan :D.
Ye ended up taking the laptop, didn't really have any choice to be honest with all the premiership games on the weekend!
Only had a few trades on the horses today, showing my brother how to trade and trying to explain to my mum that it's not gambling! My dad doesn't care as he loves a flutter!
Only managed to trade the Chelsea game today, i got in 20mins after kick off and saw it was still 0-0, so put £12 on around the 5.9 mark, laying the draw. Malouda scored the 34th minute, so was lovely jubbly! Didn't bother waiting till the 2nd half so managed to trade out for £9.40 profit. Was happy to take it and just go jump in for a swim!
Off out now in a bit to try some spanish cuisine (will probably end up in a chinese).

Going to try trade some more games over the weekend but will have to see!

21/08/10 : £14.52 (not bad for small stakes and 30mins work)

Hol-i-dayyy celebrateee!

Off on holidays tomorrow for a week so just a short-ish one to let you know how I'm getting on. Looking forward to catching some rays !
The last few days have shown me some strengths and weaknesses in my trading. Have traded the last 4 days, my stakes this week in the horses have been ranging from £5-£8. I've also been trading on the footy, am really loving trading on the football now as i find it easier to predict and i make a game plan before kick-off. Have also had a few trades on Tennis matches, still learning on the tennis to be honest. I've just been backing the server if i know he is good at holding his serve.
P&L:
Monday: £7.81
Tuesday: £10.90
Wednesday: £ 11.29
Thursday (today): £ 15.84

Currently waiting on the Liverpool game to finish to collect ME winnings! Layed the draw and was riding the correct score market for 25mins at the start ( 0-0, 1-0, 0-1) managed to get quite a bit.
So things are looking steady at the moment, just going to keep steadily raising my stakes when i feel comfortable with it, as now and again i still feel i need to be more disciplined.

Had a flutter today as well just the one, on the 19:10 Killarney. Have kept my eye on Davey Russel and saw he was riding GoneBeyondRecall, always know Davey is going to be there or there abouts. Had a look at his form and was looking good. When I'm having a punt, i first use timeform to have a look at all the horses and see how their recent results have been, then i try and assess everything from ground, every horses preferred ground, preferred jockey, weight....the whole hog basically. Put £20 on @ 6.1. Davey ran away with it, as the commentator said "And the other horses are no where to be seen" < that's always a good thing to hear when i couldn't manage to watch it online!
Anyway off on holidays tomorrow, in two minds whether to take my laptop or not to trade on the prem games at the weekend. Shall see what i feel like in the morning.
P.s. Have been enjoying reading everyones blogs, best of luck to everyone for the rest of the week!

Ciao!

Horses, Football and blooming tennis! (and a side of Golf)

Today's trading was good, apart from a loss on the Tennis market (Murray Vs Federer). I had worked out my strategy to back the server, as both players had around a 88% success rate of holding their serves. Oh this went wrong! Backed Federer at the start at around 3.4 for £8. I was looking to trade out at around the 2.8 mark with a tidy profit but Federer went and lost his first game to enthusiastic Murray. I traded out at the end of Federer's game because i felt that on the form Murray started at there was no way he was going to lose his game, which he held comfortably. I managed to scrape back some of my loss, the game was stopped for around an hour due to rain, so i chose to stop and take my loss then. I knew i wasn't in the right mindset so i chose to take my loss, as some singer said "On to the next one!"

Had a good day on the horses profiting from 5 of the 7 i traded and managed to make or lose nothing in the other two. I'll take them all day! I made sure i stuck to all the rules i have learnt from starting to trade and by doing so this put me in good stead. I also managed to up the stakes when i felt i could, I'm confident now in using bigger stakes and if i get into any trouble i make sure i get out asap!

Traded on the Arsenal/Liverpool match. First off i layed the draw as all of there matches in my recent memory have all had goals in, i also checked out there head to head stats using this site > http://livescore.football-data.co.uk/ I have a few other websites which i also check, i will make a link on the right with some more useful ones. I traded on the correct score market making quite a decent profit and i also traded on the under/over 2.5 goals market. I'm starting to get the hang of it all now with all the different markets. It got to half time 0-0 and i was tempted to cut my losses but i was sure that either team would score second half especially after Joe Cole seeing red! However in the future i will have to take into account the 10 mans team's defence, as Liverpool looked solid and somehow Ngog banged one in so i managed to trade out with a small profit but was happy to take this as i knew Arsenal would buck up their ideas. (I'm a Arsenal fan having been born 20mins from the ground and I'm sure I'm not the only Arsenal fan saying this right now, but please god Wenger sign a keeper! Almunia makes me nervous. Shay Given perhaps!!!?)
So even though i didn't manage to make a big profit on the lay the draw method i did manage to make a small profit on the other markets. I'm certainly looking forward to the premiership this year :D. Am going to be trading on the Man Utd/Newcastle game tomorrow. I've got a little routine now before each match in order to work out what markets i am going to trade on in-play, goes a little like this:
1) Head to head results
2) Recent results (depending on opposition this can be a eye opener)
3) Current betting odds
At the moment i am liking laying the draw, especially as it is the start to the season, teams want to prove themselves and this can lead to mistakes, and mistakes can lead to goals :) (just like Reina showed today!)

That's me for now, Oh on the PGA i managed to make a profit of £10 trading out all positions in play as Jason Day managed to have a cracking start, but i assumed that he couldn't stick it with the bigger boys so i traded out. Have just seen that its gone into a playoff but there is some issue with someone being disqualified! Looking forward to finding out whats going on!
Good trading people. Hope this week serves you well!
Current Bank: £64 (just waiting for the golf to finish to cash in from that)

(Tip of the day: if you are just gathering info on trading, i strongly recommend that you just throw yourself in to trading. Start off with small stakes and just learn from your mistakes. I'm still on a steep learning curve but i see it just like learning to swim. If you don't get in the water you will never know if you can do it. Good luck)

PGA lay off in play

Just placed £30 on the PGA. £2 Stakes on 15 golfers all over 70/1 odds

I selected my golfers from personal preference to golfers and by analysing the respective graphs of each golfer. This will be my first in play trading on golfing, having previously only gambled on the ryder cup and irish open. So this will no doubt be a learning experience!! Shall see how it goes.

Got a interview sorted with US Airways today at London Heathrow for next Tuesday things are looking good. Bit random, i sorted out a telephone interview with them and a New Yorker rang me up asking me standard questions in a New Yorker style and at the end of it she just goes "I think you're the shit im going to get you a interview sorted out." Lets just say i wasn't expecting her to say that!

Anyway off to trade for the day now, confident trading!

Ups, Downs and Wembley!

Was just using £3 stakes today.
Managed to trade 13 races today (15 markets). I'm really starting to get a fancy to the to be placed horse markets. I feel that there is more room for trading these markets and scalping.
I stupidly lost £2.92 at Sandown towards the end of my trading. I got caught by a drifter and again convinced myself to wait it out when i just should have took a 2/3 tick loss. I feel like writing down a hundred times, TAKE YOUR LOSS! But oh well live and learn!
Sadly lost £1.42 on the horses today mainly due to that loss.
However i managed to recover my losses Soccer (FOOTBALL!) and tennis markets. Football : £3.80. Tennis: £1.20. I just traded on one tennis match and on the English match, i layed the draw (Thank you Gerard!). I also picked up a wee bit in the over/under 2.5 goals market. Thought Fabio could have showed a bit of relief when Gerard banged one in and then after his second, he would make a good wax work. Oh and the Arsenal contingent are looking on form :D

Getting Sky+ installed on Friday with Sky sports One. Looking forward to the game Sunday, Laying the draw and definitely going to be watching the Over/Under 2.5 goals market.
Its been emotional people

Just starting out.. + Rules

I've been reading and cramming as much info into my sponge of a brain over the past 2 months or so about trading. I first came across trading last summer by accident just by typing betfair into youtube, i blame youtube for leading me down this slippery slope!
I have only started trading 2 weeks ago semi full time. I'm currently using The Geeks Toy and personally i think it is amazing, you can modify it to your needs. As i only started trading properly 2 weeks ago, i have chose to start out with minimum stakes (£2), in order to get used the geeks toy first of all and just to get a feel for the market.
In the past 2 weeks i have picked up so many rules, which i scribble down on a notebook next to me when trading, i also keep a note of every trade i do, what time, what course and how much i closed out at +/-.
Starting off, Day 1, i traded 10 races and made a profit of 27p :D. I managed to profit from 7 of the 3 races and was quite happy with my very first day. However whenever there is just one loss, there is something to learn from there. My first loss, and my biggest loss of Day 1 was -46p, this loss came down to me letting the race go in-play, so this got scribbled down straight away in my notebook of wisdom! (RULE ONE: DO NOT LET THE RACE GO IN-PLAY!!)
My next to successive days however showed a loss, Day 2 (-25p) and Day 3 (-£1.90). My Day two was going swimmingly, i in total traded 25 races that day, i was on a 12 race winning streak and my confidence was high, so i decided why not try my hand at Greyhounds to, however the one thing that i forgot to do was to figure out what trading dogs was like in comparison to trading on horses. My first ever time trading dogs, i managed to come out with a £2.19 loss :(..i was over the moon as you can imagine. The reason for such a big loss was because i didn't know that greyhounds don't go to a in-play market (which i shouldn't have been going anywhere near according to RULE ONE!!!!) This loss shook me for quite a bit and i became over cautious, i then went on for next 8 races (trading on them all), only managing to come out with £0 every race, this was because i didn't trust my instincts after my previous loss. (RULE TWO: BE CONFIDENT and research the market your going to trade in before trading in it jackass!) However i went on to scrape back most of that loss and ended the day with a 25p loss. Which i was happy to take after "the dog incident". Day 3: This day yet again gave me some great rules to scribble down in anger on my notebook. I traded 10 races this day. I ended the day early because of one loss in a Brighton race. I backed the favourite @ 1.8, from analysing the graph and seeing the WOM (weight of money) was going in my favour. However! The horse started to drift slowly, it was just like a out of body experience, i could see the horse was starting to drift, but i convinced myself it would come back down, it had to right!! 2, 2.1,2.5, 2.8 GET OUT!!! It continued to drift out, so silly me decided to let it go in-play and make my money back that way :) oh clever me! The horse went on and won the race and i swear i saw him give me a wink...

Anywayyy i have to shorten this post as my girlfriend is getting restless! However here are some more rules that i have picked up and had the pleasure of scribbling in my little book (even though i already knew all these "rules", i think i just had to make the mistakes to actually instill them in my memory bank)
RULE THREE: TAKE YOUR LOSSES!!! but just try and minimise them
RULE FOUR: ONLY WATCH THE RACE UP UNTIL YOU ARE DONE TRADING, preferably around 20 seconds before the off or so, depending on your preference.
I feel that this rule will detach myself from my bias punter ways and not look at it as a gamble.
RULE FIVE: MAKE SURE YOU ENTER THE MARKET AT THE RIGHT TIME! watch that money!

That's all i can think of for now but I'm sure i will think of more in my later posts.
The rest of the days i traded i managed to make everyone profitable, by sticking to my rules and being confident about what i was doing, i even managed to up my stakes to £5 and £8 depending on the race.
I will try to get some screenshots up sharpish, does anyone know if you can upload excel spreadsheets up here as i am keeping my trading logged day by day??
On a side note i have started dabbling in trading football and tennis and am loving it! Laying the draw is my favourite (in the right matches, RESEARCH WHAT YOU ARE GOING TO TRADE), also a fan of the under/over 2.5 goals market.

Anyway that's enough sorry for wrecking your brains! Posts will be more concise in future.

Rock n Roll peaches.
